Australian construction quoting software

AI quoting for trades, with you in charge of the price

AI is useful for the slow parts of quoting: structuring scope and writing line descriptions. It should not be trusted to set your price alone.

AI drafts need your review. Pricing comes from your own rate card.

Where AI helps

Quote King uses AI to turn rough scope into structured quote lines and plain-language descriptions your client can follow. That is the retyping most tradies would happily hand off.

  • Structuring spoken scope into lines.
  • Drafting readable descriptions.
  • Suggesting matches to your rate card.

Where it does not decide

Prices come from your own rate card, not from the AI's guess and not from live supplier prices. Quantities, GST and markup are for you to confirm. Quote King does not guarantee that any price is right.

Why review matters

AI drafts can be wrong. A misheard measurement or a missing line can cost real money. Quote King is designed around human review, and quotes are only sent when you choose.

A fair comparison with manual quoting

Manual quoting gives you full control but takes time. AI-assisted quoting gives you a draft faster and leaves control with you. Quote King aims to be the second without losing the first.

Hypothetical example: reviewing an AI draft

A painter dictates: 'Two bedrooms, each about 3.5 by 4 metres, walls and ceilings, two coats, exclude doors and skirting.' The draft returns lines for walls and ceilings. The painter notices the draft measured ceilings as lineal metres, not square metres, and that the room count is right but the exclusions line is missing.

Those are exactly the errors a review should catch. The painter fixes the unit and adds the exclusion before anything is sent.

A checklist for reviewing any AI-drafted quote

Read units before numbers. Check totals against a rough sense of the job. Confirm that exclusions, provisional items and allowances are stated. Check GST and markup. Read each description as though you were the client.

  • Is every unit right: each, square metre, lineal metre, hour, lump sum?
  • Is every quantity supported by your site notes?
  • Are provisional items labelled?
  • Are exclusions written in plain words?
  • Would you be comfortable defending each line to the client?

What AI will not know

It does not know your local council's approval rules, the state of a client's old plumbing or that the neighbour's tree blocks truck access. Those things sit in your head and your site notes. They are part of why a person must review each quote.

Compared with spreadsheets, AI saves typing. It does not replace estimating skill.
